Apple Wood Reflections by Artist Simon Bull
How often do we just look at something only for what it appears to be? The ocean is only salt water and not a mirror to the sky, our lovers eyes see us, but do we see ourselves reflected in the tiny glistening orbs? Or do we pause long enough to see glimpses of the hidden treasures that lie unseen in their heart. Seeing can be multi dimensional at times, and when I painted this apple I was almost more entranced by the changing light and color of its shiny skin than by the apple itself which seemed to me to be grounded in the earthy reality of the here and now.
