“These red post boxes, originally made of cast iron, are found in cities, towns and villages throughout Britain.  They originated in the reign of Queen Victoria and bear the insignia of the monarch reigning at the time of installation.  The rare one is the Edwardian, for when Edward V111 abdicated, many of the doors with his insignia were removed.”
